The Support you need at a time when you need it
“The role of the dementia caregiver can be incredibly isolating,” says Lucille Carriere, PhD, a clinical health psychologist. At The Whitley we are doing our part to help mitigate this and slow the rate of caregiver burnout.
Caregiver support Groups
One of the best resources for support are the very people who are on the same road you are traveling. They understand your pains, frustrations and even your more inner fears, concerns, doubt and anger with each situation—because they live it.
The Whitley Caregiver Support Groups formats may vary from time to time as each session flows according to the immediate needs of the group. But generally speaking, each support group’s format includes:
- Disease Education
- Mental Help
- Compassionate Care Partners/Advocates
- Outreach
These caregiver support groups are open to everyone wading through the dementia journey, and they are FREE. We invite you to register with our support group and begin your healing journey right away.
Support groups, sponsored by The Whitley, are meetings where people of similar circumstances discuss life’s highs and lows, solutions or life-hacks. Some participants may be ahead of you and can offer guidance, others may be behind you and will benefit from your experiences, encouragement and understanding.
